Best Gloves Performance
Valdes: Catalan Comedian |
In the world of football gear, elite performance and
top end quality isn't just reserved for football boots. So for this weeks
SoccerBible Want List we've turned our attention to the often unsung heroes of
the beautiful game and their most important piece of kit.
Goalkeeper gloves have come a long way since they
first started to appear regularly on pitch in the 1970's. Now there's a host of
gloves for all sorts of different conditions and keepers needs. Whether your
after superb grip, excellent finger protection, warmer gloves for the colder
months or just a great allrounder we've got it covered in the list below.
Uhlsport Ergonomic Bionik+ X-Change
1.- The Ergonomic Bionik+ X-Change is an Uhlsport
classic that offers unrivaled protection, comfort and grip. A patented
ABSOLUTGRIP provides these gloves with powerful shot protection and
extraordinary grip in all weather conditions. The backhand is crafted from
embossed latex with a micro–injected Shock zone which provides outstanding
performance and cushioning whilst punching away those pesky in swinging
corners.
Sells
Axis 360 Guard Exosphere
2.- As well as the usual top quality padding and
grip, these gloves are pretty innovative and are ones to check out in the
winter. Cold hands make for a miserable 90 minutes so stay warm, dry and
comfortable with Sells Outlast technology. Originally developed for NASA,
Outlast technology buffers temperature swings by absorbing excess body heat as
it’s created then releases it when you experience a temperature change.
Puma PowerCat 1.12 Protect
3.- These top level Puma competition gloves feature a
4mm Ultimate grip Latex palm and Puma's patented Flextec finger protection
which protects fingers from hyperextension by locking at 180 degrees. A twin
wrap thumb maximises latex to ball contact, and the anatomically spread tooling
follows the hands natural shape and contour for total comfort.
Nike GK Gunn Cut
4.- To be worn in the Premier League by keepers such
as David de Gea, Tim Howard and Wojciech Szczęsny,
the Nike GK Gunn Cut Football Gloves are made using a unique gun-cut
construction with rolled foam fingers to help give you the best fit possible.
Pre-Curved Fingers position the hands in a catch-ready position and a
wraparound tunnel wristband secures the hand within the glove. Check out our
recent play test here.
Adidas Predator Finger Save Allround
5.- The adidas Predator FS Allround does what is says
on the tin; it's an allround glove that is great for any keeper. The gloves
feature a fingersave protection system built into the fingers which is designed
to offer maximum protection against broken fingers from powerful shots. A
contact maximizer cut increases the contact area on the palm, enhancing control
when catching the ball.
Reusch Argos Pro G2 Caesar
6.- As one of the world's finest goalkeepers, Julio
Cesar demands the best gloves available. Made with Reusch’s highest quality G2
Ultrasoft latex, The Reusch Argos Pro G2 Caesar gloves pro provide unbeatable
grip in wet and dry conditions plus excellent durability. Thanks to the
combination of materials and design the gloves offer excellent backhand
flexibility while the highly breathable airmesh airvent system ensures maximum
ventilation.
Umbro Neo Pro DPS
7.- Crafted with protection, grip, movement and
comfort in mind, the Neo Pro goalkeeper gloves are recommended for top level
keepers. The removable Digit Protection System offers an extra layer of
reassurance, while a special palm fabric provides great grip in any conditions.
With improved articulation and breathable mesh fingers to keep your hands cool,
the Neo Pro DPS perfectly balances the practical needs of a goalkeeper with a
smart and stylish look.
Adidas Predator PRO ClimaProof
8.-Rounding out the top 5 are one of Adidas’ new
gloves, the Predator Pro ClimaProof. I usually am not a huge fan of the color
red (besides anything having to do with my blessed Arsenal, but Go Bruins!),
but these gloves caught my eye. A red and black Predator backhands shields a
SUPER RAD charcoal palm, which has squiggly lines on it a well. Adidas is
definitely adding spice and variety to their gloves, probably to keep up and
compete with the numerous other brands who are rolling out the options!
Aviata Stretta Light Bright
9.-Is a being favorite Professional Goalkeepers gloves.
Bright colors are so IN right now, and these gloves take the cake. Pink,
yellow, blue and white all make it on to the gloves. Big yellow palms will help
to distract forwards who take that last little peek before striking a ball at
you, and many a save will be made by opposing players forgetting their duties
while checking out these bad boys!
HO SOCCER Pro Performance Roll
10.-I stumbled upon these gloves while cruising
through some sites, and I immediately had a crush. For me, simple is always
attractive when it comes to gloves as well. The HO Performance Rolls are white
with a black pattern in the backhand, and it looks great. White gloves will
always remind me of Mickey Mouse hands, which will always remind me of
happiness and success. Therefore, these gloves automatically help make you more
confident in goal, purely off how they look!
